Santana Golf, Santana Golf Course, Santana Golf Club - Golf Holidays in Spain - Golf in Spain
Santana Golf Area: La Cala Course Information Par: 72 Holes: 18 Requirements: men 28, ladies 34. Soft spikes. Facilities: Buggies Driving Range Putting Green Clubhouse Restaurant
The Santana golf course, designed by famous American architect Cabell B Robinson, is home to some of the most intriguing holes on the Costa Del Sol, including one of the longest (a 603m par 5) as well as some ingeniously designed shorter holes. The Santana offers exquisite views of the surrounding hills, usually bathed in glorious sunshine, and is known for being impeccably maintained and cultivated, with particular mention being given to the native cork and avocado trees that trademark the course. Situated between La Cala De Mijas and Fuengirola, this country club is in an ideal location to see the stunning views of both the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea and is a short drive from the airport. The fairways are fairly wide and the ground is relatively flat therefore this course is playable for most handicap levels but the focus is more on the experienced golfer. The greens once again are relatively flat and well manicured with specifically placed bunkers and water hazards to keep this course challenging whilst maintaining a relaxed game. A lot of effort has been put in to the design of this course and this is reflected when they installed a top of the range drainage and irrigation system that increases the amount of playable days available. The clubhouse consists of a restaurant and bar to relax after walking round this long course, buggies are available if needed though. A more stately course than many on the sunshine coast, and definitely worth a visit.
