A very pleasant drive through the mountains around Alhaurin el Grande, or via a new motorway link at the Parador turn if you’re eager to tee off, is the park-style Lauro course, a heady three hundred metres above sea level. 

The course’s 18 spectacular holes are laid out on a plateau with unsurpassed panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, and feature as part of their design the Sierra de Mijas forest.

  Much interest and good reviews of the course have resulted in an additional 9 holes being designed at built at the Los Caracolillos course.

To keep with the Andalucian theme, each hole has been named after a famous bullfighter and many of the fairways have beautiful olive trees nestled down the side of them.

The course has had numerous tournaments held there throughout the years with the Junior and Senior Final’s being very popular here.

The course has several water hazards but non to tricky, with all hazards clearly visible prior to the shot. Therefore if your game isn’t up to scratch and you skew a shot, then hopefully it won’t be too costly.

The Lauro clubhouse is classic Andalucian architecture and a fine place to unwind with a drink or a bite to eat after the game.
