The La Cala golf resort in the glorios Mijas Costa region of the Costa Del Sol is Spain’s largest and arguably most impressive golf course.
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and always absolutely immaculately maintained, all three courses are a real pleasure to play and offer their own unique experiences and challenges.
The South course, designed by leading American architect Cabell B. Robinson, is tuned to accommodate all levels of play, from novice to professional, and really encourages players to improve their game rather than unnecessarily punishing mistakes.
The North course is a more intense affair, designed to challenge even the most hardened pro with long, though generous fairways and tricky hazards.
La Cala also has an extensive range of other leisure facilities for those wanting to take a break from the golf for a while, as well as a five star luxury hotel and spa.
The resort also has a 6 hole, par 3 course which is classed as one of the best short hand facilities on the coast.
The longest whole is 145 yards and is perfect for practicing your short hand iron shots. More suitable for beginners who may struggle with the longer, harder courses on the resort.
The resort has the only David Leadbetter golfing academy in Spain, and so if you are a beginner or need your swing touching up then why not get lessons from some of the finest.
There are a number of extra facilities within the resort from large putting greens to sand bunkers getting out of a tricky situation. Truly a top of the line resort.
